Welcome to the July newsletter
Welcome to the July Newsletter. This month we've been busy at London's
Waterloo Train Station, and reaching for the stars at the
Savoy Theater which is home to the hit musical Legally Blonde.
We've also been entrusted with a priceless work of art which has taken
Sculptor Philip Jackson two years to complete. We're still busy continuing
works at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
As usual please do contact us if you would like to give us any feedback on our
services.
Mighty Mini Crane used for Waterloo Station Upgrade Works
We all love a dynamic duo don't we ( just go with me on
this one) Batman & Robin, Godzilla and Godzuki, to the
comedy genius that is Little and Large.
Well now at Gatwick Group we've got our very own Dynamic Duo, our Unic
Mini Crawler Crane may be small, but it packs a powerful punch, and teamed
with our remote controlled Hiab Cranes it can be placed virtually
anywhere, roof tops, viaducts, down holes, into tunnels, and funnily enough, on
top of railway arches at Waterloo Station.
We provided full Risk Assessment and Method Statement for working
within a tight access and egress area housing commercial units within the
arches of London's Waterloo Station, to lift our Unic Mini
Crane up onto the Network Rail Infrastructure above using our Hiab Crane.
Our CSCS & PTS trained Mini Crane Operator carried out
lifting operations for the installation of new Lighting Columns along the
platform & tracks.
We then carried out the removal of all Redundant Lighting
Columns, for transport & disposal according to our ISO 14001
policy.
Gatwick Group Enlisted to Transport and Install Sculpture
Crowds of people including local school children assembled at St
John’s Cathedral in Portsmouth on the 22nd July to witness the unveiling
of Philip Jackson’s sculpture of St John the Evangelist.
Gatwick Group were asked to carefully transport and install the work of art on
behalf of our client Sculpture Studios, whilst making sure it was kept
securely under wraps from any prying eyes before the big unveiling
ceremony.
The statue has taken two years to complete and was finally unveiled on a
two-metre high plinth in a ceremony conducted by the Bishop of the Catholic
Diocese of Portsmouth.
Reaching For The Stars At The Savoy Hotel & Theater
The Savoy Hotel & Theater London, is home to the hit musical Legally
Blonde, We were enlisted to provide contract lift and removal services of
condensing equipment upon the roof of the landmark hotel by our client
Chorus Group.
Security Guards had to be deployed to prevent any public access to the
lift zone , and we supplied protective mats and flooring equipment to
ensure no damage occurred to the Savoy's historic frontage.
The new Condensing machines are lifted up on to a flat roof area where
our operator was standing for the best vantage point, and the redundant plant
and equipment is removed and craned to our vehicle for disposal.
